Here's a tutorial on how I make my clothes pin flags for my paper trays. If you have those wire racks to file papers this is a good tutorial for you. You can embellish the clothes pin any way you like; this is just how I do mine.
I know all you crafters have clothes pins tucked away in your drawers behind mounds of embellishments. Time to dust them off and make use of them. This is art and function combined!
Here's some of the stuff you'll need. Clothes pins are a must here, but anything else is fair game. Embellish and alter your heart out. The skies the limit here.

1) Take your clothes pin apart and paint it. When you take it apart you can get into all the nooks and crannies of the pin.

2) When your paint dries reassemble the clothes pin. Sometimes this part can be tricky so a pair of boy hands could be helpful. =)
Cut a piece of patterned paper or card stock to fit the top of the clothes pin. I can't really give dimensions here because all clothes pins are very different. Even a pack of clothes pins from one company can be different sizes. Don't worry, the paper doesn't have to fit perfectly over the pin.

3) After you have glued your paper to the top of the clothes pin, create a label for it. You can use a labeler, computer, or hand write it. Categorize your paper by colors, designs, companies, sizes, or however you segregate it.

4) Stamp a couple small images, color them, and cut them out. Glue the images to your pin, add some flowers, some glitter, and you're done!

Remember this is just one simple way to embellish a clothes pin. There are so many possibilities.... coordinate the pins to match your room or style, the colors you like, or the sets you like. This is more of a tip than a tutorial; I wanted to show you an organization tip that you can turn into a small crafty project. I found that this is a really good way to keep yourself organized and it is mobile. If you're like me, you are constantly rearranging your crafting space. This allows you to be organized, but not have to commit to a certain arrangement.
I hope you can use this idea to your benefit. I think staying organized is really important to keeping your sanity and it leads to a more productive craft time. You lose so much time when you're constantly looking for this or that.
Mahalo for looking!!! And remember you can e-mail me anytime with questions. JeNN
